Betty Jo Basden Wesson Our precious mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend went peacefully to be with our Lord on Sunday August 26, 2007.She was born on September 14, 1932 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, WE and Wilma King and her husband, Roland Basden. She is survived by children, Lynne Presnell, Greg Tittle, Mike Basden, Cameron Basden (Vivian), Peri White (Kelvin), Sandi Barrett (Terry); 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Betty loved her family and especially all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them at cook-outs, birthday parties, shopping and going to estate sales. On any given Saturday, you could find her shopping at Northpark or eating guacamole at El Fenix. While spending most of her life as an antique dealer and collector, she made a lot of wonderful friends. She also loved ballet, opera and the arts. She spent many weekends sitting at ballet rehearsals stitching, pinning and piecing together costumes. One of her favorite birthday memories was going to see Luciano Pavarotti at Reunion Arena. She also loved reading, working crossword puzzles and watching jeopardy (where she hardly answered a question wrong). Some of her favorite books to read were the Bible and anything by Max Lucado and Chuck Swindoll. Even when her condition prevented her from reading herself, she loved for someone to read the Bible to her.You could just see it in the expression on her face. One of her very favorite loves was her church family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sunnyvale for many years. She was a greeter at FBC Sunnyvale until her condition made it too hard for her to continue. She loved so much attending everything that our church scheduled from dinners, picnics, Easter egg hunts, building dedications, etc., but one of her very favorites was Michael Bridges concerts which she continued to go to even when she was no longer able to walk. Her unconditional love, compassion and kindness were felt by those she touched in her everyday walk through life. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday September 17, 2007 at 10:00 am in the chapel of First Baptist Church Sunnyvale.
