Loving grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the age of 86. Born Betty Jane Bay on April 30, 1929 in Arcadia, Missouri to Edgar Ray and Willye Elizabeth Bay. After graduating from Hardin-Simmons University, she began a 32 year career as a registrar at Baylor College of Dentistry. Following her retirement in 1992, she received the honor of being inducted into the BCD Hall of Fame and has a scholarship fund established in her name. Those who knew her would tell you that she loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mesquite for over 40 years and had the privilege of leading the Grace Sunday School class during that time. Betty was greeted in Heaven by her late husband Ross Samuel Scott and her daughters, Ethel Elizabeth and Kathryn Marie. She is survived by her grandsons Zach Krajca and wife Stephanie, and Micah Krajca. She is also survived by her great grandson, Noah John Krajca, sister Rosalie Berkley, former son-in-law Ronald Krajca and wife Kristi, forever friend Sherry Krajca and numerous loving family members and friends. Betty’s favorite scripture was Galatians 5:22-26 and she exemplified the fruits of the spirit in her life every day and with everyone she came into contact with. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Sprit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.” In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Mesquite or the Baylor Oral Health Foundation in memory of Betty Scott.
