Betty Jo Martin was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world after a short battle with cancer on August 4, 2022 at age 79
Betty was born on March 30, 1943 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Albert Pruitt and Charlotte Frances Douglas.
Betty married John Martin on December 16, 1959 in Bowling Green, KY. The couple had 5 children.
After moving to Texas Betty went to work for Taylor Publishing Company where she stayed until she retired in January 2014 after 50 years of services. While working there she made many life long friends.
Even though cancer took her away from this world to soon, her loving heart left a beacon of light for everyone she knew. She was best known for her servants heart and spoiling her family
Betty is Survived by: Son - James Martin of Mesquite, Tx, Daughters - Theresa Steele of Mesquite, TX Lisa (Randy) Brannon of Campbell, TX and Sharon (Steve) Tucker of Mesquite, TX. Grandchildren - Travis (Kandice) Brannon of Campbell, TX, Tiffany (Eric) Moore of White Oak, TX, Jerad Steele of Mesquite, TX , Kari (Timothy) Kellogg of Greenville, TX, Justin Steele of Mesquite, TX, Timothy Brannon of Campbell, TX and Kaylee Tucker of Mesquite, TX. Sister's Connie (Raymond) Cancino of Victoria, TX, Hazel (Sye) Garrett of Mesquite, TX. Brother in Law Bob (Joyce) Martin of Bowling Green, Ky, Sister in law Diane (Perry) Simpkins of Murfressboro, TN. She leaves a legacy of 8 Great Grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years John Earl Martin, daughter Debora K Martin, mother Charlotte Frances Douglas Miller, Father Albert Pruitt, Bonus Father Willis J Miller, Brothers Terry Ray Miller, Ronald Willis Miller and Robert Earl Miller
The service for Betty Martin will be held on Monday, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Meadowview.
Visitation: Sunday, at 4:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home - Stateroom A.
Burial: New Hope Memorial Gardens, Sunnyvale, TX.
