Betty Leona Gentry

Betty Leona Gentry of Lewisville, Texas, passed away May 2, 2013.A loving mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.She was preceded in death by her husband Pete WesleyGentry;Mother, Cora Bessie Cox Jones; Father, Wallace Lewis Jones; Brother Gene Jones; Sister, Mildred Oxley; daughter, Rita Gale Nichols Gentry. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Smith and husband Jimmy; Tina Gentry; Kimberly Winters and husband Kelly.Grandchildren: Betty Nichols Stevens, Jason Smith, Stephanie Niblett Falls, Oliver Nichols Milo, Jennifer Smith Jeffreys, Samantha Niblett Wright and Robert Winters.Bettywas also blessed with six great grandchildren with another one on the way. Betty was born on March 10, 1932.She was married 54 years to Pete W. Gentry, and had 4 children.Betty volunteered for Community Christian Action Center in Lewisville, Texas for years before becoming a full time employee.In 2002, she retired from Community Christian Action Center after 14 years.She was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease in 2005.One of Bettys favorite past times was playing with her dog, Kelly-Girl, and collecting jewelry.Her remaining years were spent spending time with her family and friends.Her loving smile and laugh will be greatly missed. The family will have a celebration of life service Saturday, May 11 at 4PM, at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.
