Bessie M. Carathers

Bessie M. Carathers, 96, of Kilgore passed away at her home Thursday, March 25, 2021. Bessie was born January 8, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Wiley Remie and Bessie Colwell Carathers. Bessie married Tom J. Rink in December 1946, and they made their home in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Bessie and Tom had one son, J.R. born in Klamath Falls.

The family moved back to Texas in 1955. Bessie worked for a CPA firm in Dallas and in later years she was a member of the Sears accounting department. She retired in 1979 and made her new home in East Texas. Bessie had a love for travel and visited all 48 continental states, Canada and Mexico during her lifetime.

Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, sister Catherine Rogers and brothers John and Warren Carathers.

Bessie is survived by son, J. R. Carathers; nieces Dorothy Britt, Mary Ann Oringderff and Becky Witzell; great-nieces Carol Ann Renfro, Sharon Miles, Lisa Hartwick and Carey Points; great-nephew Maxie Britt Jr.; and numerous great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
