BEN DAVID WILLIAMS, SR was born October 6, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Ben Hill and Jessie James Williams. His Father passed away when Ben was two years old and he was raised by his paternal grandmother, aunt and uncle. He graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1951 and joined the Air Force immediately after that.He married his childhood sweetheart (from 1st grade) Mary Lou White on May 2, 1953. After leaving the Air Force in 1955, he and Mary with their first two children, Ben David, Jr. and Karen Dianne, moved to Mesquite Texas and still live in the first house they bought in 1956.Ben went to work for Braniff Airways as a mechanic and later as a flight instructor until Braniff filed bankruptcy. He then worked for Dalfort as a flight instructor until his retirement. Ben was preceded in death by his father and mother, his paternal grandmother, his guardian Aunt Lula Belle and Uncle Johnny and his brother, Jerry Lee Williams. Ben also lost a newborn son James Darren Williams in 1961. Ben is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Mary Lou Williams and his four children:Ben David Williams, Jr.,Edgewood, TX; Karen Dianne Harris and her husband Randy Harris, Forney, TX; Sheryl Denise Miller, Mesquite, TX; Mark Douglas Williams, his fiancee Barbara Duck and her daughter Stephanie, Albuquerque, NM. Also survived by 9 grandchildren: Amy Lynne Morris,her husband Paul, Dirk Lee Williams, his wife Amanda, Nicholas Shane Harris,his wife Adrea, Blake Langley Williams, Linda Lou Alvarado,her husband Alex, Meredith Blair Miller, Bennett Warren Miller, Cheyenne Williams and Sarah Williams. Great grandchildren include Benjamin, William and Rhett Morris and Ethan and Jack Williams. Ben was a Deacon and Elder at First Presbyterian Church.He was passionate about his family.His other loves included golf, carpentry, dancing, enjoying his friends and of course, shopping at Sam's Club. Ben passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on May 30, 2013.He is now at home with his Lord, possibly helping with some repair work.
