Barbara Jean Tinker Hill was born in Ventura, California on July 25th, 1930 to Anderson Doddridge Tinker, “Buddy”, and Florence Middleton Tinker, “Flossie”. Barbara Jean, “Bobbie Dootsie”, “Great” joined the Angels on December 10th, 2018 at 12:35pm, surrounded by loved ones. She earned her Texas roots when her family moved from California during the Depression. She graduated in 1948, from Livingston High School, where she was May Queen and one of the top 3 students in her class. “Boo Aggies” was a favorite saying used by our beloved Mom, as she attended and graduated, in 1954, from the University of Texas in Austin. Barbara Jean was married in 1951 to Vernon Barnes Hill Jr. They were blessed with 3 children. She was a lover of animals, a caregiver, piano player, writer, poet and photographer. Barbara was a lover of history and old time movies. Her scene of humor and quick wit will not soon be forgotten. Our Mom often reminded us that without her, we would not exist and that now that she was blessed with great grandchildren, we could call her “GREAT”. Barbara Jean is survived by her sister, Lee and husband Hardy Loe, her brother, Tommyand wife Cindy Tinker, her 3 children, Bambi Smith and husband Vincent Wilford, Barbara Ann and husband Ronnie Thornton, Marc Vernon and wife Kathy Hill, grandchildren; Crystal Thornton, Nichole and John Richardson, Ashley Smith, Sean Thornton and Kenisha Jones, Chelsea Wilford and Joe Sillas, Liam Thornton, great grandchildren Marc, Peyton, Adalyn, Jordan, Jayce, Kinslee, Emma, Kennedi, and Lilith, her 15 year old kitty, Cinderella Nichole, her dog Max, and an abundance of family and friends. Barbara Jean joins her parents, her youngest brother Douglas Tinker and her grandson Joshua Arsenault in Heaven. Please join us for a celebration of her life on Sunday, December 16th, 2018.
