Athie Lue Denny

Athie Stephens Denny, age 83 passed away at her home in Garland, Texas on January 15,2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 25, 1939 to the late H.R.Stephens and Earlyne Hyles Stephens in Dallas, Texas.

Athie was preceded in death by her daughter Vicky Knowles and her parents. Her twin sister Margaret Taylor passed away four days after Athie on January 19,2023 proving that the twin bond is incredibly strong

Athie is survived by her son Frankie Spencer IV and wife Lisa and grand-daughters Kaetlin and Hailey.  

Athie graduated from Garland High School in the class of 1958. She was a cheerleader and she was Miss Garland. Athie pursued her career at the Garland Police Department and worked there until her retirement. Her faith in God helped her to live a long and full life.

Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2023 at New Hope Funeral Home and the funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at New Hope Funeral Home with burial following at New Hope Memorial Gardens.
