Ashish Kotak

August 8, 1974 — March 6, 2019

Ashish Kotak, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2019. He was a resident of Dallas, Texas at the time. He was born on August 8, 1974 to the late Anil Kotak and his wife Manik in Pune, India. Ashish was the middle child, with an older brother Shashank and younger sister Monali. He attended Bishop's School in Pune, where he spent his childhood and most of his adolescent years. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed sports, drawing, camps, music, and was involved in many church activities. He was fascinated with computer technology and went on to pursue a career in that field. He moved to Dubai where he worked and completed his MBA before relocating back to India to start a family. In 2002, he married Natalie, and they made their home in Pune, serving in his church while he continued to work as a Systems Analyst and Project Manager. In 2005, he immigrated to the United States, where their two beautiful children, Karuna Joy and Daniel Zadok were born. Ashish was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He loved his family dearly and was a friend to everyone he met. He had a kind spirit and a contagious laugh. His life was a living example of one of his favorite Bible verses, Matthew 6:33, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Ashish described himself as “a pilgrim on a journey on the narrow road.” He was ever conscious that he was living between worlds, one earthly and one in heaven. He loved adventure, rarely backed down from a challenge, embraced new flavors, but never abandoned his roots. It was his wish that his children love their heritages and cultures, both Indian and American, but even more so, that they would receive the same heavenly citizenship that he held through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. In that confidence, though his pilgrimage is over far sooner than we ever imagined, we celebrate his home going. Ashish is survived by his former wife Natalie, two children Karuna Kotak (age 12), Daniel Kotak (age 10), mother Manik Kotak, brother Shashank (Joyce) Kotak, sister Monali (Rajeev) Browne, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends around the world. Please join us to honor and celebrate Ashish’s life on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 . Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. (CST), followed by a Funeral service at 10:00 a.m. (CST) at Woodcreek Church, 3400 E Renner Road, Richardson, Texas 75082.
