RODGERS, Arlene Annette of Mesquite, Texas, born February 7, 1961 in Birmingham, England, passed away May 8, 2009. Arlene migrated at age 18 months to Barbados then to New York at the age of 10. She received her early education in Barbados and attended school at St. Clemmons until 8th grade; graduated from St. August Martin High School. After graduating she enlisted in the United States Army. She served her country for 4 years. Later married Richard Rodgers and she gave birth to four children. Preceded by father James Wylie and 2 sons at birth; Aunts Esther & Gladys; uncle Anthony. Survived by 1 son, Anthony, 3 daughters, Miriam, Christina and Kayla; her mother, Mrs. Maggie Richardson; 1 sister, Michelle; she was blessed with a grandson, Baylor; 2 uncles, Victor & Winston Harrison; and a host of cousins and friends. Service will be 10:00AM Thursday May 14, 2009 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00PM " 8:00PM.
