MCLAIN, Rev. Arlen Maine, (A.M.) of Dallas, born December 26, 1915, passed away October 30, 2007. He was born in Hunt County, Texas.A. M. was a pastor and evangelist in the Congregational Methodist Church, pastured churches in Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas.Named the first director of missions for the demonination and a successful insurance agent with Amicable Insurance Co. for over 20 years. Preceded in death by wife, Shirley; parents, Travis & Willie McLain; grandchildren, Kevin McLain and Karen Hoffman; great grandchild, Jennifer McLain. Survived by children, Burnie McLain of Dallas; Wylie McLain & wife Vivian, Beverly Cox & husband, David of Burleson, Arville McLain & wife, Carolyn of Forney, Arlen McLain & wife, Debby of Mesquite, Shirley Hayslip of Pasadena, TX; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Gilbert McLain of Hempstead; sister, Elena Burke of Los Angles, CA. Service will be 10:00AM Thursday November 1, 2007 at the First Congregational Methodist Church, 1310 S. Beltline Road, Grand Prairie, TX. 75051 with Rev. Ned Chipley & Rev. Edna Fowler officiating. Music: Edna Fowler, Noral Gregory, Dan McDowell; Accompanist, Martha Chipley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wesley College, Florence, MS; Missions of Congregational Methodist Church, Florence, MS; McLain Furlough Home, Florence, MS. Interment will be in Rose Mound Cemetery, Commerce, TX. with Rev. Arville McLain officiating.
