Ann Sanders

June 6, 1941 — February 26, 2025

Annie Belle Swindall Sanders entered heaven on February 25, 2025. Ann, also known as Ninnie, & Grannie Annie, was born June 6, 1941 to Oscar and Gladys Swindall of Crosbyton, TX. She graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1959, where she served as President of the Future Homemakers of America.

The Swindall Family had a very close friendship with the Sanders Family, and one of her childhood friends was James Sanders. In the spring of 1956, James, a sophomore, asked Ann, a freshman, to the Spring Play for their first date.Their friendship grew into a loving relationship for the ages. Ann and James were married March 5, 1960 and moved to Mesquite, TX in 1968. Ann stayed home with her girls for many years before working outside the home. She retired in 1993 to spend time with her Grands!

Throughout her life, Ann served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher, church choir member, in the Bus Ministry, and as a greeter. She and James served together as a part of the Crossroad Riders of Mesquite, a chapter of Christian Motorcyclist Association. They were also a part of Texas Praise, a worship band. Both of these ministries took them across the United States and Texas as they shared Jesus at rallies and in prisons.

Ann is survived by her true love of 65 years, James Sanders, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Michael Malone of Garland, and Dana and Steve Wise of Mabank. She was Ninnie to five Grands: Jennie and Cody Brooks of Spring, Mollie and Matthew Wilson of Fairfield, Olivia and Stephen Ridgway of Austin, Caleb and Emily Wise of Mabank, and Don Malone III of New Caney. She was most proud of her four Great Grandboys: Cody and James Brooks, James Hollis Wise, and Sanders Ridgway

Ann is preceded in death by her sweet daughter Lisa D'Ann (1965), her parents, her sisters Dollie Richardson and Glenda Ferree, and her brothers, O.B. Swindall Jr. and Alvin Swindall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org in Ann's honor.
