Anna Marie Porter

Anna Marie Porter, age 77 of Mesquite, TXpassed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Baylor Medical Center of Carrollton. Anna was born in Greenville, TX on June 10, 1938, the daughter of Lynda McKinneyBlaylack and James W. Blaylack.Anna married her high school sweetheart, James Porter, and they just recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. Anna was a devoted wife and steadfast companion to James, a wonderful mother to their sons and a great friend to many. Anna loved books and was a stellar cook.She enjoyed sharing recipes and cooking with family and friends.After she retired, Anna often helped cooked meals for the homeless. Anna is preceded in death by her mother, Lynda Blaylack, father, James W.Blaylack, and son Jeri Porter.She is survived by her husband, James Porter, son Michael Porter and wife Grace, son John Porter and wife Cindy, son Jeffrey Porter, son Tim Porter, son Darren Porter and wife Makayla, 6 grandchildren,14 great- grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Cherie Morrison, Shelia Petty, Cecelia Prestriedge and brother-in-law, Rick Porter. Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 21st from 5-7PM. Funeral service will be held at Christian Center of Mesquite on Thursday at 11:00AM with burial at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
