Angela Dawn Hillis was born on October 25, 1963 in Baylor Dallas, TX and passed away only 8 days away from celebrating her 52nd birthday. She led a very active life and played soccer and softball as she was growing up and even continued to play coed soccer after becoming a mom. When both her boys were old enough to get involved in baseball, she became their cheerleader, coach and scorekeeper. Angela grew up in Mesquite, TX and attended Range Elementary where she was a cheerleader and member of the Purple Falcons drill team and graduated North Mesquite High School in 1982. She also attended TCJC where she received an Associate’s Degree in accounting. One of the loves of her life was her canine friend, Harley, an Australian shepherd she raised from a puppy. She also had an artistic side and created some beautiful memories for her family. She had a passion for writing poetry and most of her poems were about her life experiences, the good and the bad. She was a very kind and loving person, willing to help others in need. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to meet her. In the past few years she had many health issues and her heart started to fail. Finally God said she had suffered enough pain for a lifetime, and He picked her up and carried her home to suffer no more. She loved her family so much, especially her only grandson James, and was surrounded by her loving family in her last days. Angela was our earthly angel “Angel of the Dawn” who left us way too soon. She had a beautiful voice, loved karaoke and was involved in choir all through grade, middle and high school. Now she will be singing with the choir of angels in heaven. Angela was preceded in death by her father, James Michael McGuffey.
