Aneta Love Jobson Rutledge of Mesquite passed away on October 19, 2007. Born in Dallas, Texas on May 30, 1918, she was raised in Mesquite Texas and graduated from Mesquite High School.After high school, Aneta Love completed beauty school in Dallas and became a hairdresser. She met James Edward Rutledge when he was visiting relatives in Mesquite and they married on Christmas Day of 1938. She traveled with James to South Carolina as he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.They returned to Mesquite, and Aneta worked as a hairdresser until she retired at the age of 70.During much of that time, she was the co-owner of Kathryn's Beauty Shop in Mesquite. She was a proud and loving mother to her son, Sam Edward.Aneta was also an excellent cook and her holiday meals were much enjoyed by her family, including many nieces and nephews.She was an active member of the Mesquite Junior Women's Study Club and the Mesquite Women's Club. Aneta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, James. She is survived by her son, Sam, and his wife, Connie, along with two grandchildren who adored her:Melissa Rutledge of Austin and Sean Rutledge of Sunnyvale.She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Aneta. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale.
