Andrea Milliken

September 21, 1938 — May 9, 2023

Please join us as we celebrate the life of our devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Andrea Milliken.

Andrea Milliken went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 9, 2023, in Mesquite, Texas.  Andrea was, and always will be, a light for so many.  She taught her family the meaning of unconditional love.  Her home was a place of peace and welcome: her family and friends could bring any issue to her table and she was there, ready to listen.

Andrea Milliken loved fiercely and she spoke the truth.  When you came to her with a crisis, she would love you through the problem, but she never hesitated to tell you what she really thought.  Unconditional love coupled with absolute honesty:  no wonder so many friends and families found their refuge in her home.

Andrea loved her garden and her lilacs, spending time with her family, and assembling photo albums and special handmade gifts for her family and loved ones.  She worked for some time in the Garden Center in Walmart, where her co-workers and customers remember her positivity, laughter, and beautiful smile.

Andrea Milliken will continue to be a light of love and peace for so many, including the beautiful family she leaves behind:  husband Larry Milliken, son Roy Martinez, Jr., daughter Lydia and husband Ken Laduke, daughter Teresa and husband Scott Riddell, and her siblings:  Pauline Martinez, Rosemary Martinez-Pena, Luis Martinez, Lupe Martinez and wife Lola, and Robert Martinez.

Andrea’s love and laughter will also be forever missed by her treasured 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandson.

Family and friends are invited to join us for visitation, which will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Friday, May 12, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  The Holy Rosary will be prayed, led by Father Joseph, starting at 7:30 p.m. during visitation.

The memorial service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home the following day, May 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Toby Abbott presiding.  Burial will immediately follow in the grounds adjacent to the funeral home, near the meditation gardens.  Refreshments will be served after the service at 208 East Fork rd Sunnyvale, TX 75182, and of course, all who loved Andrea and her family are are welcome - Andrea Milliken would never have it any other way!
