Allen T. Garvin

November 6, 1943 — December 18, 2020

Allen T. Garvin (77) of Red Oak, Texas passed away peacefully December 18, 2020 after a courageous battle with lewy body dementia.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents Samuel Garvin and Eleanor Garvin and brother’s Roger, Alvin, Arthur, Bill, Lester and Larry Garvin. He is survived by his sons Mark Garvin and wife Susan of Hurst, Texas, William Garvin of Red Oak, Texas, grandchildren Hayley Garvin and Joshua Garvin of Red Oak, Texas, Parker Irvin and Ashley Irvin of Hurst, Texas and great-grandson Martin Brundrett of Red Oak, Texas, brothers Robert Garvin and wife Karen of Royse City, Texas and Jerry Garvin of Gun Barrel, Texas.

Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He married his sweetheart Donna while in boot camp and they were happily married for 50 years. Allen worked for Decibel Products for 40 years in the engineering department. He was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed family reunions, coaching his grandson’s baseball and time with his brothers, sons and friends. Allen and Donna enjoyed their yearly cruises and spending time with their grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22nd at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas and graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. that afternoon at the Smyrna Cemetery in Scroggins, Texas.
