Allen Douglas Elkins,

ELKINS, JR., Allen Douglas of Crowell, TX, born September 21, 1960 in Pampa, TX, passed away December 7, 2009. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crowell. Allen was a behind the scenes kind of guy, enriching the lives of others, like the annual Toys-4-Tots bike drive. Allens devotion was to his daughters Kisha & Shanna; and his grandson, Jaydin Allen which was the light of his life. After being diagnosed in August 2008 Allen remained positive through his brave battle against small cell lung cancer. He enjoyed collecting knives, guns and coins. Preceded in death by parents: Allen Douglas Elkins, Sr. and Era Dean Stroud Powers. Survived by children, Kisha Gail Crain & Shanna Nicole Elkins of Lefors, TX; grandchildren, Jaydin Allen Elkins of Lefors, TX; sisters, Darla Powers Putman of Sanger, TX, Lori Elkins Goldston of Forney TX.; step-father, Tommy Powers of Crowell, TX. Service will be 2:00PM Wednesday December 9, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Crowell, 1122 N. Main, Crowell, TX. 79227. Interment will be in Crowell Cemetery, Crowell, TX. Acting Pallbearers: Jimmy Gatlin, Don Tinney, Jeff Bowen, Barry Branch, Taylor Fox and Terry Boren. Honorary Pallbearers: Richie Cox, Ronnie Allen, A.C. Johnson, Max Bowen, Anson Jones.
