Alice Norene Motley

MOTLEY, Alice of Mesquite, passed quietly and comfortably into the Kingdom of God on March 28, 2011. Alice was born in Clarksville, TX to Guy and Mary Ellassee Shackelford. She graduated from Greenville High School and was the secretary at Wilkinson Junior High School in Mesquite for over twenty years. Alice is best remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Those closest to her will long remember her wit, her happiness, but most of all her talents in the kitchen. Her Saturday feasts brought in family and friends for many hours of fellowship. She enjoyed dancing, playing dominos and just being with friends and family. Alice is survived by her husband, Jack Motley of Mesquite; daughter, Mary Shewmake & husband, Steve of Mesquite; son, Edward Motley & wife, Linda of Arlington; grandsons, Christopher Shewmake & wife, Holly of Dallas, Zachary Motley & wife, Karen of Grand Prairie and Bradley Motley & wife, Emily of Keller; great granddaughter, Madison Shewmake of Dallas. Service will be 1:00PM Friday April 1, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00PM " 8:00PM. Family requests that memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
